Twinning Society: three towns meet for online Quiz

Thursday, 13 May 2021

A tri-partite Online Social event between Hebden Royd, St Pol and Warstein took place on Saturday evening, 8th May.

When Town Clerk Jason Boom ably co-ordinated an online quiz for Hebden Royd Town Council, councillors and the Hebden Bridge Twinning Society on 6th of February, we were joined online by some of our friends from St Pol and Warstein. We all enjoyed ourselves so much that we ambitiously decided that we should hold a genuinely tri-partite and tri-lingual social event with a quiz between the 3 towns.

Participants from Hebden Royd, St Pol and Warstein

In both Hebden Royd and Warstein, nine households joined the event, with five from St Pol. We started with video clips from Nick Wilding in Hebden Bridge and Helmut Schulte in Warstein.

Once again, Pat Fraser prepared the questions for Hebden Royd though sadly a trapped nerve prevented her from joining us on the actual evening. Between the 3 towns, the questions were challenging but enjoyable. Jason Boom co-ordinated the event with his usual flair and professionalism, while keeping track of the scores.
